Get started with Browz

Install Browz, sign in, create your first profile and start it.

Browz keeps separate, saved browser profiles. Each profile has its own cookies, storage, fingerprint and proxy, so accounts kept in different profiles stay apart.

  1. On a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later), open the Browz disk image and drag Browz into Applications. Allow about 400 MB of disk space.
  2. Beta builds are not notarised yet. The first time you open Browz, go to System Settings, Privacy and Security, and choose Open Anyway.
  3. Sign in with the server address, your email and your password. If two-factor authentication is on, enter the authenticator code as well. On a computer the account has not used before, also enter the code Browz emails you.
  4. No account yet? Choose Create one on the Browz website on the sign-in screen, then confirm your email address with the link you are sent.
  5. Open Profiles and choose + New profile. Give it a name, choose the engine and a proxy, then choose Create.
  6. Choose Start on the profile row. A browser window opens for that profile. Choose Stop, or close the window, when you are done.

Browz runs a small local service, the agent, beside the app. It serves the app and the local API on 127.0.0.1 only, so nothing outside your computer can reach it.

Browz is a signed-in app: your profiles, proxies, folders and a set of settings come from your account, so every computer you sign in on shows the same setup. They are end-to-end encrypted on your computers before they reach the Browz server. Settings, Storage and trash shows the local data directory and the size of each profile.

The Windows build is joining the beta and Linux is not available. Install steps for Windows will be published with the Windows beta.
