Browz cannot reach the server
What to check when Browz says it cannot reach the Browz server, and what still works meanwhile.
Error codes: agent.unavailable
Browz is a signed-in app: signing in, sync, opening a profile and team actions all go through the Browz server named by the server address you signed in with. When the server cannot be reached, the message says: cannot reach the Browz server, followed by the address and the reason. Errors like this carry the code agent.unavailable.
- Check this computer's internet connection, and any VPN, proxy or firewall that might block the Browz app (not the profiles' own proxies, which are separate).
- Check the server address on the sign-in screen or in Settings, Account and appearance. It must be the address your account was created on.
- If the server answers again but some actions still fail, open Help and support, Service status, to see incidents or maintenance its operator has recorded.
- If the server address is on your local network and macOS asks, allow Browz to find devices on the local network.
- Try again once the connection is back. In Settings, Account and appearance, Sync now runs a sync straight away.
While the server cannot be reached, profiles do not open: Start is refused with launch-server-unreachable rather than open a profile without its launch lock. Profiles that are already running keep running.
